We are proud to announce the conclusion of our $4.5 million fundraising initiative, Caring For Those Who Cared For Us, The Campaign for the Greater York Region.

To date the campaign has raised $5.7 million – surpassing the goal by more than $1.2 million - to fund a major expansion project at The Village at Sprenkle Drive, an Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania (LSS) senior living community located in Manchester Township.  The project includes construction of assisted living and memory support residences, in addition to the expansion of the Glatfelter Community Center.

“We are grateful beyond words to those many loyal donors and new friends that have helped us achieve this level of success,” said Glenn Miller, LSS vice president for Philanthropy. “We are especially grateful to our campaign cabinet, including our co-chairs Rob Bowen and Joe Crosswhite and honorary co-chairs Tony Campisi and Tom Norris.”

Campaign cabinet leadership included honorary co-chairs Anthony P. Campisi and Thomas C. Norris; honorary vice chair Kathy Glatfelter Costello; co-chairs Robert Bowen and Joe Crosswhite; and cabinet members D. Reed Anderson, Esq, Leslie W. Brant, Henry J. Christ, Elizabeth Dellinger, George W. Fishel, Michael R. George (in memoriam), Dave C. McIntosh, John M. Ulrich and Joseph G. Wagman.

“LSS and everyone involved in the campaign have been on a journey this past year.  The Campaign for Greater York Region set a goal of raising a minimum of $4.5 million in support of our $16 million expansion project at Sprenkle Drive, and we went well past that goal,” explained Anthony Campisi, campaign honorary co-chair and President & CEO of Glatfelter Insurance Group.  “It was the first campaign for LSS in many years, but it was worth the wait.”

The public phase of the campaign occurred between January 1 and March 31, 2014, with fundraising continuing throughout the year.  The campaign was approved and endorsed by the York County Capital Campaign Review Board.

The Campaign for the Greater York Region was the first major capital appeal made by LSS in more than two decades.  The expansion of The Village at Sprenkle Drive, located at 1802 Folkemer Circle in York, will be completed in the autumn of 2015.
